Delay with updates…

I'm sorry that there has been a delay with the reconstruction of the site. Let's just say that life got in the way and I'm working to get around it so I can bring this site back up to be as fantastic as I hope it can be. Updates should resume in the next few days.

Has Abe been busy or what….

I have about 30 new projects that have to be added to all the categories and even a new menu title. This one called "Misc works" is for when Abe expresses his inner gamer and does voices for video games. He's done three so far, Skylander: Giants, Skylander:SWAP Force and Diablo 3:Reaper of Souls. In Diablo3, he gave voice to Urzael, but I have no clue as to which Skylanders have Abe's voice attached. If anyone knows, please shoot me an email.

Abe's next big adventure will be in theatres in January. Called "The Finest Hours" it's the true story of the Coast Guard's most dangerous rescue.

Slowly but surely, it’s getting done.

Finished the "Shorts" page...damn just remembered another one to add. You all know that this site will never be completely done. Abe is always doing more work and friends and family and fans are always sending more photos and stories, most of which I can't use because they are too personal. This site will NEVER have anything on it that would embarrass Abe or his family.

Coming along nicely

As you can see, things are coming along quite nicely with the site.  I still have to connect and populate the photo gallery, forums and do the media pages.  If anyone has any photos they want to share with or of Abe, please let me know.  Nothing "private" or that Abe or his mom would not want to see online please.

Enjoy the journey of watching the site take shape.

Work behind the scenes

I'm currently doing some work behind the scenes of the site and trying to get it completed as soon as possible.  This is why things may look a bit wonky and a messed up.  I have a certain vision, and I want that vision to come to life.  Just be patient with me while I'm trying things out.

First page is done

First page is done and the design theme has been defined for the site.  I'm really liking what I'm seeing so far and I can't wait to show you all, I really can't, but I have to for a little bit longer.

I will tip my cards with one thing…you will be able to sign in with Facebook (if you use it) so you can comment on news and stories and such.  Good news on that is that I could care less about what you do on Facebook, don't care who your friends are or anything about your personal data. I'm just going to use it so you have one less password to remember.  Of course you could always do it the other way and log in directly, the experience will be the same….awesome! :)

Ground has been broken (finally)…and a call out

Coding and data collection has started on what I'm calling the "AB-Reboot". I have lost count on what "version" this would be so that's why I'm calling it a reboot. Even once the new site launches, work will still be going on behind the scenes. Ideally, each movie/TV show/etc will get it's own page with all the media I can scrounge for each project. This will be the hardest part as in I have to recapture screen shots and do video clips, find trailers and all that good stuff. The hunt will be worth it.

Here is where the "call out" part comes in....I'm making a plea to the Abe's friends and family that would be willing to share photos and anecdotes about Abe. Nothing too personal or embarrassing please. I want Abe to be as proud of this site as I will be, and I know members of his family will see some of what I receive. Email them to bob@abrahambenrubi.com

Site moved

I've moved the domain over to a hosting site that will allow me to keep the blog up front, while I construct things in the back. Also I've chosen my devil, DreamWeaver. It's got more power and flexibility for the buck than RapidWeaver and doing it all by hand is asking for a concussion from repeatedly slamming my head into my desk.

Always check http://www.fansofjohngoodman.com for updates on that site or if this one goes offline, the other site will tell you why and how long. I'm running on WordPress for now...and who knows, it might make it into the final version of the site.

I’m stuck….

I'm caught between 3 devils….one I know but is very complicated to use (DreamWeaver), one I'm learning that seems easier to use (RapidWeaver) and one I hate and requires the most work but know the best (Text Editor). Every version of the previous sites were ALL done by hand. These are my options for the creation tool for the new site. For this blog, I'm using RapidWeaver. It was quick and easy enough to get something professional enough looking up so Abe and his fans knew the site was still around.

So…Larry, Abe, SpongeBob, anyone….what's your input? Email responses or message me on FB.

WAY overdue update….

This site has been down for way too long. So long in fact I’m quite embarrassed, and I'm sure that Abe isn't thrilled either.

This blog is just a placeholder for now so people know that the site still exists and will be returning to the web-waves very soon.

I do have grand plans for the site and I am working on getting my skills up to the point that I can pull off the site I see in my head. While I am updating my skill set, I am thinking that I may have to put up a work in progress version just to re-establish it’s presence on the net and when my skills are up to making the version in my head, which hopefully will not be long, unleash the full force of how wonderful this site can be.
